WHO WE ARE
Since the 1980's, Laborers of the Harvest has consistently served our community by providing food, kindness, and a smile to everyone who walks in our doors. We currently give food to approximately 530 families and 2,400 individuals each month.
Laborers of the Harvest is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation that was started by Bill Smith and Bob Brown. They handed it all over to Mike and Becky Long. They all wanted to make a difference in their community and Taft is a better place because of their tireless efforts. Through their faithful dedication, we became an essential source of food for people in need. After carrying the torch for over 30 years, Mike and Becky handed the organization off to new leadership in 2019 so that the mission could continue.
YOUR FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED
WHAT WE DO
Laborers of the Harvest collects food through gleaning and direct contributions. We organize what we receive and then hand it all out twice a week from our Taft facility. We are a volunteer-based organization and depend solely on people giving of their precious time to collect, transport, organize and distribute all the food as well as handle all the administrative functions that are required. We receive no government funding. We operate exclusively on the generous donations of local people and companies who embrace our vision of a community without hunger.
FOOD DISTRIBUTION AND PICK UP TIMES
There is no requirement to receive food from Laborers of the Harvest.
